10 Amazing Jamaican Bloggers You Should Be Following in 2020
10 Jamaican Bloggers who are killing the game in 2020
Looking for some great content from Jamaican creators? Then look no further! I have compiled a wonderful list of Jamaican bloggers who produce amazing content to keep you entertained for weeks (even months) on end. If there's one thing we've all been doing these past few months, it's searching for great content to keep us entertained. And with the recent call for more diverse creators to be recognized, I thought I’d throw my hat in the ring and introduce as many persons as possible to some incredible bloggers from my home country of Jamaica.
Jamaican bloggers have been a silent force for quite some time now. For over 10 years, they have been some of the ultimate creators using their unique voices to showcase not only the best of what the island has to offer, but also added their own twist to international favourites to create an inconceivable fusion of cultures. Home to such a diverse group of individuals, is it a wonder that we also have a diverse group of bloggers using their platforms to share their stories and interests with the world? The living embodiment of the country’s motto being ‘Out of many, One people’, these diverse creators continue to produce amazing content that shapes both local and international experiences and understanding of our culture, history, economy and overall lifestyle.
The problem is that with such a vast space as the internet, it’s not hard for bloggers to get lost and their content not get the level of recognition they deserve. I mean it’s easy to search and find a curated list of bloggers from the United States or even the U.K., but that is often not the case when looking for content from bloggers in countries like Jamaica. Despite the overwhelming success of blogging powerhouses such as Jessica in the Kitchen, Irie Diva, The World Up Closer, Silicon Caribe, Lauren o Lauren, Haute People and Jamaipanese who have not only acted as flag bearers for Jamaican bloggers and the Jamaican blogging community for years, but have also proved that it is possible to have a financially stable lifestyle from blogging; there still hasn’t been an arguably strong blogging community developed in Jamaica.
I recently made a call to order and started a weekly twitter thread for Jamaican bloggers and I was amazed to see all the bloggers who I never even knew existed. Some of these bloggers have been making killer content for ages and yet their content hasn’t yet become as mainstream as it should be. There are so many Jamaican bloggers who are still flying under the radar although they consistently produce amazing content. So I decided to use my platform to highlight some of these amazing creators.
Honestly, trying to narrow down this list to just 10 blogs was one of the hardest things I've ever done. There are some really talented Jamaican bloggers out there and I must say I'm really impressed. I must have looked at over 70 blogs to try and compile this list. Bearing that in mind, I tried to be as diverse as possible.
While compiling this list, I took a few things into consideration. Such as, how frequently the blog is updated, the content value (be it for entertainment, information or educational purposes) and just the overall blog aesthetic. Being a consistent blogger takes a lot of effort and I felt it best to recognize those who are not only putting out killer content, but also doing it frequently. So without further ado, here is a list of some of the top bloggers from Jamaica.
1. Rochelle from Adventures From Elle - Travel Blog
This is probably one of my favourite local travel blogs. In fact, it’s probably one of my favourite travel blogs period. Like me, Rochelle is a medical doctor with an earnest need to explore and enjoy as much of what the country has to offer. While currently on the last few weeks of her medical internship (which for me felt like such an overwhelming period in my life), she still manages to go on amazing adventures and produce excellent travel pieces that has every reader looking to plot out their next travel adventure. She creates the ultimate Jamaican’s guide to Jamaica and writes such detailed experiences filled with such vivid imagery that every post has you feeling like you were on the adventure with her.
2. Jhunelle from SimplyLocal.Life - Travel Blog
Another favourite local travel blogger of mine, Jhunelle, has all the insider information on how to really travel like a dryland tourist in Jamaica. Her blog is definitely the golden destination if you’re looking for ideas on where to go, eat, stay or visit in Jamaica. Plus she often has some exclusive discounts to share with you to make your travels a little more budget-friendly. Jhunelle really has her pulse on all things travel and is arguably one of the most creative travel bloggers here on the island. I really enjoyed how she adopted her content during this quarantine to still remain true her brand identity, remain engaged with her audience and really introduced some amazing concepts as to how we can make our quarantine more travel friendly for those of us who have been mixing the outside and going stir crazy. She even created her own filter on Instagram called Island Life so you can add a little more spice to your travel adventures.
3 Candi from The Sunnyside Ja - Beauty & Lifestyle Blog
I stumbled on this blog maybe a year or so ago and I have been hooked ever since. To me it's the ultimate definition of a lifestyle blog. Packed with amazing reviews, sage and savvy advice and feeling like all this information is coming from a friend, Candi offers readers that intimate feel that I personally crave whenever I'm visiting a blog.
Her content is curated to truly reflect her lifestyle and life experiences so readers can feel like they are learning and growing along with her. And this makes her blog just so relatable. She provides great tips and tidbits you need to know about being a millenial woman and navigating this modern world.

4 Gillian from Financial Centsibility - Financial Blog
I don’t know about you, but trying to get my financial house in order these past few years has been a STRUGGLE!!! The education system really failed in preparing the masses with the financial know-how to not only live, but to thrive in this modern world.
There was a point in my life when I was obsessed with personal finance blogs. Income reports, learning tax advantages, saving strategies, seeing people overcome debt, the whole works. I scoured the internet looking for tips and tricks on how to improve my finances as best as I could. But, there always just seemed to be something missing. I couldn’t fully appreciate the advice because it wasn’t geared towards my country and understanding our financial structure. So imagine my gleeful surprise when I bucked up on Gillian’s blog?! It was like the heavens opened up and gave me the fountain of financial advice I was looking for. A financial blog geared towards Jamaica that was filled with applicable information. Bonus was that the information was also relatively easy to understand as a novice interested in learning about finances in Jamaica. She stayed true to her financial background but still made it digestible so anyone could learn.

Packed with different ideas on how to improve savings, learn how to budget and get the most out of all experiences, Trevann also adds fresh takes on old advicetoy make it more applicable to current times. Her blog is part of what I'd consider the millenial's guide to better financial health.
6. Vanessa from PinkPeachhh - Food, Art, Culture & Lifestyle Blog
A newbie to the blogging game, Vanessa has quickly become one of my fast favourites. Her obvious joy and excitement about every food adventure, art tour or travel excursion she goes on can be felt in every word she writes in her blog post.
PinkPeachhh takes readers on adventures through Jamaica's art, culture and food scene. Providing impressive and detailed account of the experience, readers can feel like they were actually present at the event that was attended. It's like sitting down with a friend while they are recounting a fabulous trip or adventure they just went on.

What I enjoy about this blog is that she gives the real real insight into what's it’s like to live her life. It oozes with feelings of gratitude, determination and perseverance. Plus she's aware enough that she's still learning in this life and that makes this blog really relatable.
8. Kadia from The Digital Jamaica - Technology Blog
The digital space has transformed a good mount since I started blogging. Now pretty much everyone has a smartphone and some sort of access to internet. Accessibility to technology is at the best it’s been in years. And yet still there’s still a major divide from our first world and even some of our Caribbean counterparts. Yes we have better access than ever, but so many Jamaicans are not using the digital space to its full potential and utilizing the vast resources available to them to improve their financial situations. And that’s where Kadia comes in.
A major advocate for Jamaicans learning how to utilize and excel in the digital space, Kadia uses her platform to introduce Jamaicans already killing it in the digital space, educate novices on ways the can maximize the digital space for their brands and businesses and just hot important it is for Jamaicans to utilize the space for things beyond just for our entertainment. Kadia’s blog, as well as her podcast, is one the best ways to truly understand how to utilize the digital platform that has been afforded to you. Her tips and tricks are unmatched and she writes in simple terms that is easy for any newbie to understand.
9. Suzanna from The Millennial Jamaican - Lifestyle & Culture Blog
A born unifier, Suzanna uses her blog to raise the voices and introduce you to some amazing Caribbean nationals who are doing great things in the world. Her platform amplifies the voices of the Caribbean nationals by sharing their stories, exploring their backgrounds and highlighting their unique experiences living/growing up in the Caribbean. Beyond the sandy beaches, all-inclusive resorts, and endless sunshine, the Caribbean is a place of an intricate culture, lifestyle and a flurry of experiences that you often can’t have anywhere else. It is unique, it’s charming and it is oh so interesting. I love this blog because it really brings you into their world and makes you feel like you’re a part of their experiences. Each story is different and each viewpoint is distinguishable but it is all a reflection of the Caribbean experience.
