Kathleen Lights x ColourPop Dream St. Swatch and Review
In what seems to be a partnership built from the finest gold and composed by the best maestros around to produce a perfect symphony, this past December, Colourpop again teamed up with Youtube beauty sensation, Kathleen Lights to release the Dream collection. This highly anticipated collection consisted of a pressed powder shadow palette, Dream St. and a liquid lipstick bundle called Dream Team.
If you read my Beauty Lover Holiday Gift Guide that I posted this past Christmas then you know that one of the items that caught my eyes and became my Christmas palette recommendation was the Dream Street pressed powder shadow palette by Colourpop and Kathleen Lights. As soon as I saw this palette, it was like cupid shot me in the buttock and I fell in pure unadulterated love. I was absolutely head over heels! Man it was a beaut!!! It had me captivated and salivating as my heart strings tugged at my purse strings to allow me some freedom and purchase the palette.

The palette consists of 16 shadows ranging from warm-toned neutrals to wonderful pops of colour in a matte-shimmer/metallic-satin combination meant to woo our hearts. Bronzes, reds, blues and greens all sealed together in a soft yet elegant union. And all for the rather amazing price point of $16 USD. That’s $1 USD per shadow people!!! That’s absolutely positively fricking amazing!!!
The Packaging:
One of the first things that attracted me to this palette was the packaging. The beautiful and alluring packaging, consisting of a gorgeous rose gold colour in a dreamy marble swirl with flecks of stars, moons and the sky glistening across the package, seduced me on sight. It was absolutely enchanting and truly dreamy. I knew I had to have it! There really was no doubt about it!!
Colourpop describes this pressed powder shadow palette as a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect and therefore creating highly pigmented, long-wearing and easily blended shadow looks. They promise that the shadows apply evenly and feel ultra-velvety and silky to create the perfect day or night look.

The Shadows:
The next feature of this palette that captivated me was the pigments!!! I absolutely loooooooove the colour combination!!! It’s a perfect blend of neutrals and colours. Perfect for a neutral everyday look or to spice up your nights out with bold and beautiful colours.
The first row is a very neutral combination of mattes and shimmers.
Shooting Star: This is a soft golden brown with warm undertones and a matte finish.
Magical: This is a matte yellow peach with warm undertones.
Star Dust: This a metallic true copper.
Twinkle: This is a metallic true rose gold.
The second row is definitely the more colourful set in this palette with mainly matte colours save for Sweet dreams which is a shimmery/metallic shade.
Sweet Dreams: This is a metallic soft champagne with a peachy pink flip.
Water Bearer: This is a cool teal with a matte finish.
Potion: This is a vivid reddish rust with a matte finish.
Spark: This is a matte neon red.
The final row is most shimmery of them all. It’s a row of mainly metallic finishes and small flickers of colour.
Kaleidoscope: This is a metallic intense silvery nude.
Elfish: This is a matte rich red brown.
Moony: This is a soft baby pink with a satin finish.
Mermaid Boy: This is a metallic deep teal.
My Review:
I was really ecstatic by how amazing this palette is!!! This was a brilliant mix of pigments and beautiful hues! It was soft and sweet yet vibrant and bold. The matte and metallics, neutrals and colours, all were just absolutely fabulous and really great for a creating a wide range of looks with this palette.
The shadows were really pigmented, although some of the shimmers did need a bit more shadow to build up the desired colour. I actually found they performed much better when applied with a dampened brush. But overall, the shades perform very well and looked even better on the lids. My favourites were Stardust, Potion, Waterbearer and Elfish.
True to promise, these shadows were velvety soft and blended really well. They melted into the skin like butter and felt really good on the lids. They weren’t chalky or dry on the skin and applied really evenly to bare skin.
Overall thoughts:
I think this palette is really great. The quality is truly phenomenal. Every shade in the palette is quite pigmented (though metallics need a little more work), true to color and buttery soft. Another successful collab by Colourpop and Kathleen Lights.
